The National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) advanced Oman’s digital transformation efforts on Wednesday with the launch of three key national initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s data infrastructure and institutional coordination. The unveiling took place at a ceremony held at the Grand Millennium Muscat.
The initiatives include the interactive “Atraj” application, the Coordination Portal for the State Administrative Apparatus, and the Central Data Warehouse Project. Collectively, these projects aim to strengthen Oman’s data ecosystem, promote integration among government entities, and support the objectives outlined in Oman Vision 2040.
Dr Khalifa bin Abdullah al Barwani, CEO of NCSI, emphasized that these launches underscore the Centre’s ongoing dedication to developing the national statistical and information system and fostering statistical literacy. “These initiatives embody our commitment to enabling effective data use to support sustainable development and informed policymaking,” he said.
The Coordination Portal serves as a central digital platform designed to enhance collaboration and communication across government agencies. It offers a secure environment for sharing reports, studies, government project updates, survey results, and public opinion research. By facilitating systematic data and information exchange, the portal aims to assist institutions in making evidence-based decisions and formulating policies grounded in reliable information.
Meanwhile, the Central Data Warehouse Project represents a strategic advancement in managing and integrating Oman’s national data sources. This platform seeks to unify disparate datasets, improve data quality and reliability, and increase accessibility for government decision-makers, researchers, and other stakeholders.
Through these initiatives, the NCSI aims to accelerate the modernization of Oman’s statistical systems and promote the use of advanced technology to support the country’s development goals and digital transformation agenda.
