Fashion entrepreneur Vanissa Antonious has praised the strong response from Saudi Arabian women to the introduction of her brand, NEOUS, highlighting the cultural importance of the Middle Eastern market. NEOUS, recognized for its contemporary footwear and handbags featuring modernist designs and Italian craftsmanship, expanded into Saudi Arabia through an exclusive retail partnership with Omarieden late last year.
Antonious, who was born in Sydney to Egyptian parents, attributes much of her design philosophy and work ethic to her cultural background. She explained that her heritage has deeply influenced both her creative approach and business practices.
Since its founding in 2016, NEOUS has gained an international following and is currently available through more than 50 retailers in 24 countries. Antonious noted that the brand’s reputation had already reached Saudi Arabia prior to the official launch in the region, with many local women already familiar with and loyal to the label.
During a recent visit to Saudi Arabia, Antonious met with several women who had owned and worn the brand’s earlier designs. She observed that Saudi women exhibit a “very assured and individual approach to personal style” combined with a strong appreciation for craftsmanship and quality—values that align with NEOUS’s design ethos.
Commenting on the brand’s growth in the Middle East, Antonious described the region as holding “both commercial and cultural significance” for the company. She emphasized that the Middle Eastern market demonstrates a sophisticated appreciation for craftsmanship, materials, and the integrity of design, paired with a confident and distinctive sense of personal style.
NEOUS’s entry into Saudi Arabia reflects a broader trend of international luxury brands seeking to engage with the region’s evolving consumer base, which increasingly values high-quality artisanal products and distinctive fashion statements. The partnership with Omarieden is expected to enhance NEOUS’s presence and accessibility within the Middle Eastern market.
