Nesma Airlines has introduced a new direct flight service linking Cairo International Airport and Sabiha Gökçen International Airport in Istanbul, with three weekly flights commencing May 22. This new route is part of the airline’s broader expansion strategy aimed at enhancing its international network and facilitating increased travel and tourism between Egypt and Türkiye.
The launch responds to rising demand for travel between the two countries, fueled by improving diplomatic and economic ties that have bolstered tourism, trade, and investment. Nesma Airlines’ CEO Karim Baqi emphasized that the service would provide passengers with a full-service travel experience focused on comfort and quality.
Baqi highlighted that the Cairo–Istanbul flights mark a significant milestone in the airline’s growth, supported by its recent fleet expansion. The carrier has added more than five new aircraft, including Airbus A320 and A321 models, to its inventory. He also indicated that Nesma Airlines is exploring further opportunities to expand its route offerings within Türkiye to meet evolving market needs.
By inaugurating this direct air link, Nesma Airlines aims to capitalize on the strengthening relations between Egypt and Türkiye, positioning itself as a key player in regional connectivity and economic exchange.
