Nestlé, the Swiss multinational food and beverage company, reported stronger-than-expected organic sales growth for the third quarter of 2026, posting a 2.8 percent increase compared to the forecasted 1.5 percent. This performance has fueled optimism that a strategic turnaround under Chief Executive Philipp Navratil is gaining momentum.
Navratil, who assumed leadership a year ago, has emphasized internal growth as a central element of his strategy to reposition the company. Despite the quarterly outperformance, Nestlé maintained its full-year organic sales growth forecast at 3 to 4 percent.
In outlining his approach, Navratil highlighted the ongoing adjustment of the company’s product portfolio, which involves scaling back Nestlé’s involvement in certain categories such as ice cream, bottled water, and vitamin supplements. He acknowledged the progress made but stressed that the company still faces challenges ahead.
“I am pleased with our progress but I am not satisfied, there is much more for us to do,” Navratil said, reflecting a cautious optimism about the company’s future trajectory.
The improved quarter comes amid broader industry pressures and shifting consumer preferences, underscoring the importance of strategic focus in maintaining growth. Nestlé remains the world’s largest packaged food and drink company by revenue, and its recent results suggest that the leadership changes and portfolio shifts are beginning to show results, although the company continues to navigate a complex market environment.
