The Royal Mint has issued a new 50p coin to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the British Grand Prix. The coin was officially unveiled at Brooklands in Weybridge, Surrey, the site of Britain’s inaugural grand prix held in August 1926. This year’s British Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire on Sunday. The release highlights a century of British motorsport history and celebrates the longstanding tradition of the event within the Formula 1 calendar.
