The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure has issued a tender for consultancy firms to conduct a feasibility study and design for the Fourth Federal Highway Corridor (E-911), a planned 68-kilometre highway connecting the Dubai–Sharjah border to Ras Al Khaimah. The invitation, announced on October 15, targets Category A engineering consultancies and calls for submissions by October 22.

The proposed highway aims to enhance connectivity between the northern emirates by providing a direct route from the Dubai–Sharjah boundary to Al Shuaira Road in Ras Al Khaimah. In addition to the main corridor, the project includes an approximately eight-kilometre link connecting the new highway to Emirates Road (E-611) near Umm Al Quwain.

Design plans call for the highway to have between 12 and 16 lanes in total, with lane numbers adjusted along different segments to accommodate traffic demands. The selected consultancy is expected to perform comprehensive engineering studies, create detailed designs, and potentially provide construction supervision services as part of their contract.

While the tender marks a significant step toward the highway’s development, the ministry has yet to disclose details regarding the project's overall budget or timeline for completion. This initiative reflects ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and facilitate smoother transportation across the United Arab Emirates’ northern emirates.
