Starting November 1, several new regulations and changes will take effect across the United Arab Emirates, impacting transportation, veterinary practices, and recreational activities.
In a move aimed at combating antimicrobial resistance, the UAE will implement a nationwide ban on the veterinary use of ciprofloxacin. This restriction includes all veterinary medicines and raw materials containing the antibiotic and is intended to encourage responsible use within veterinary clinics, animal healthcare providers, and related businesses.
Transportation rules will also be updated in Dubai, with revised speed limits introduced on five major roads. Speed limits will decrease on Al Rebat Street, from 100 to 90 km/h between Marrakech Street and Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, and on Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah Street, which will drop from 80 to 70 km/h between 2nd December Street and Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street. Conversely, speed limits will increase on Al Asayel Street, from 60 to 80 km/h between Oud Metha Street and Al Meydan Street; on Al Mustaqbal Street, from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Rashid Street and Al Meydan Street; and on Latifa Bint Hamdan Street, from 60 to 70 km/h between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road.
Recreational opportunities will expand as Dubai Municipality opens registration for the 2026-2027 winter camping season at Al Ruwayyah. Running from November 1 through April 30, the season introduces a roughly 120 percent increase in camping capacity, allowing for up to 600 camps. New facilities and additional camping plots, including caravan options and daily rental camps, will be available. Registration and reservations for UAE nationals can be completed online through Dubai Municipality.
The UAE will also observe Flag Day on November 3 with nationwide flag-raising ceremonies across government offices, schools, businesses, and communities. This annual occasion celebrates national pride and unity, though it is not an official public holiday, and most institutions will maintain regular operations on the day.
These developments reflect ongoing efforts by UAE authorities to enhance public safety, promote responsible practices, and encourage community engagement across the country.
