The Insurance Authority, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Civil Defense, has introduced a new Third-Party Cooperative Insurance Policy aimed at venues that host large crowds or engage in high-risk activities. The policy offers civil liability coverage to establishments against bodily injury and property damage suffered by visitors and patrons due to accidents occurring on their premises.

Designed to safeguard visitors' rights and support businesses in managing financial and operational challenges arising from such incidents, the insurance will be mandatory following a Cabinet decision. Facilities will be required to secure this coverage as a condition for obtaining a Civil Defense license to operate activities designated as subject to mandatory insurance.

The compensation under the policy will vary according to the type of activity and the associated risk level. Coverage terms, conditions, and exclusions will be explicitly outlined in the policy documents. Implementation is planned in several phases to facilitate a smooth transition for affected establishments.

Naji Al-Tamimi, CEO of the Insurance Authority, emphasized that the policy aims to promote business continuity and bolster investor confidence in sectors subject to the new requirement. He noted that the coverage will assist establishments in mitigating financial impacts from accidents, thereby enhancing their capacity to maintain operations and recover effectively from unforeseen events.
