Sabrina Ionescu played a crucial role, scoring 12 of her 21 points in the extra period to help secure the win.

Trailing by 12 points in the third quarter after a low-scoring 9-point frame, New York rallied with 24 points in the fourth quarter to force the game into overtime. Ionescu was perfect from the field in the extra period, converting all five of her shot attempts and putting the Liberty ahead 97-93 with just over a minute remaining.

Dallas, playing without several key players, responded with a late surge led by Arike Ogunbowale, who sank a three-pointer to bring the Wings within one point at 99-98 with 27.5 seconds remaining. New York’s ensuing possession ended in a shot-clock violation, giving Dallas another opportunity to take the lead. Ogunbowale had a close-range attempt in the final seconds, but her bank shot bounced off the rim as time expired.

Ogunbowale finished with a team-high 29 points for Dallas, which suffered its first defeat after a franchise-record six-game winning streak. Jessica Shepard recorded 13 points and 16 rebounds, marking her 17th double-double of the season and tying Atlanta’s Angel Reese for the league lead in double-doubles.
