Newcastle United has secured the signing of midfielder Aladji Bamba from Monaco for a reported fee of £34 million ($45 million). The 20-year-old midfielder has penned a five-year contract with the Premier League club, marking a significant investment in Newcastle’s squad ahead of the new season.

Bamba, a France Under-20 international, featured for Monaco during the previous campaign, including appearances in the UEFA Champions League. Speaking shortly after the transfer, he expressed enthusiasm about the new challenge. “I’m excited to test myself in a new league, the biggest league in the world. I learned a lot last season and now I feel ready for this new opportunity,” Bamba said.

This acquisition comes in the wake of midfielder Sandro Tonali’s departure from Newcastle to Tottenham Hotspur during the summer transfer window. Additionally, there have been ongoing reports suggesting that Bruno Guimaraes could also exit the club, underscoring the importance of bolstering the midfield options.
