Josh Lee scored twice as Newmarket Town recovered from an early deficit to draw 2-2 with Bowers & Pitsea in a Division 1 North encounter on Saturday.

The visitors opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Jayden Silcott-Brown found the net from a narrow angle, giving Bowers & Pitsea an early advantage. Newmarket responded in the 31st minute, with Lee capitalizing on a cross from Robinson to level the match.

The hosts took the lead midway through the second half when Lee converted a penalty in the 65th minute. The spot-kick was awarded after Bowers goalkeeper brought down Newmarket’s Goddard inside the box. However, Bowers & Pitsea fought back late on when Shana’s skillful dribbling created a penalty opportunity, from which Fin Dorrell scored to equalize.

The match ended in a draw, with both teams sharing the points. Lee’s performance stood out for Newmarket Town, while Bowers & Pitsea showed resilience to secure a result away from home.
