Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti acknowledged that Neymar is dissatisfied with his limited playing time at the ongoing World Cup but emphasized that the forward has maintained a professional attitude and continues to be a positive presence within the team.

Neymar, Brazil’s all-time leading scorer, has appeared in only one match during his fourth World Cup campaign, coming on as a substitute for the final 14 minutes of Brazil’s 3-0 group stage victory over Scotland. At 34 years old, the forward is expected to remain on the bench for Brazil’s round of 16 encounter against Norway, scheduled for Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

Speaking to Brazilian newspaper Folha de Sao Paulo, Ancelotti described Neymar’s attitude as respectful despite his frustration over his limited role. “He’s not satisfied, but he’s behaving very well. Neymar is very respectful,” the coach said. He added that Neymar remains an important figure for the team, both for his skill and his humility.

Neymar entered the tournament carrying a right calf injury, which initially restricted his involvement on the field. However, Ancelotti indicated that the player’s fitness has improved, asserting that Neymar is now capable of playing a full match if required. The coach’s remarks suggest that the decision to limit Neymar’s time on the pitch stems from tactical considerations rather than physical limitations alone.
