Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jordan Elliott was released from the team following an incident involving a firearm in the parking lot of the Titans’ facility last week, head coach Robert Saleh confirmed Wednesday. Saleh described Elliott’s action as a "terrible lapse in judgment" and characterized it as a call for help rather than a criminal act.

The team initially announced Elliott’s release on Tuesday but provided limited details, citing an unspecified incident that occurred five days earlier. According to a source familiar with the situation who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the ongoing review, Elliott retrieved a gun from his car in the parking lot after an altercation with another player.
