Nick Jones, founder of Soho House, has officially opened the St Clement, a new luxury hotel located on the Temple section of the River Thames in London. The hotel debuted in mid-June 2026, marking Jones’s first major venture following his departure from Soho House’s board earlier this year.

Positioned along the riverbank, St Clement offers guests expansive views encompassing iconic landmarks such as St Paul’s Cathedral and the Palace of Westminster. One of the hotel’s standout features is its tenth-floor restaurant, Lunette, helmed by chef Florence Knight. The building also includes a large swimming pool adjacent to the river, designed to create the sensation of swimming through trees without leaving the premises.

Jones has emphasized the hotel’s atmosphere and people as central to its appeal, contrasting St Clement with what he perceives to be many other London hotels lacking the “right sort” of clientele. To complement this vision, the hotel’s bar, named Bobbi’s Bar, employs a diverse team of hosts—referred to as “Bobbis”—who engage with guests by mixing cocktails, playing piano, or spinning vinyl records.

Room rates at St Clement are positioned competitively, with some accommodations priced roughly half of comparable luxury hotels in London, despite the high-end amenities and prime location. The hotel aims to offer a balance of luxury and accessibility uncommon in the city’s market.

Additionally, Café Clement, an all-day dining venue on the ground floor, has already attracted attention for its culinary offerings. The hotel’s design, location, and staff-centric approach have generated considerable industry buzz, with some sources describing St Clement as one of the most impressive new hotel developments in London.

While details on the exact size of the hotel or the total number of rooms have not been disclosed, St Clement is positioned as a direct competitor to established luxury London hotels such as Claridge’s and the Chiltern Firehouse, as well as to newer large-scale branded properties in areas like Mayfair and Knightsbridge.

The opening of St Clement represents a notable addition to London’s luxury hospitality sector, blending a distinctive hospitality philosophy with a highly curated guest experience in a historically and geographically significant setting.
