An attorney representing the trustee of Nick Reiner’s trust has petitioned a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to release $300 to fund his jail commissary account while he awaits trial on charges of murdering his parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.
During a hearing held on Friday, Lauriann Wright, counsel for successor trustee Jodi Pais Montgomery, characterized the request as a “quality of life issue,” emphasizing that the amount sought is modest relative to the larger assets involved in the ongoing legal dispute.
Nick Reiner, 33, has been engaged in a legal battle to gain access to approximately $1.5 million held in the Nick Reiner Children’s Trust, established by his late parents in 1993. His attorneys have reported that he has not received any funds—“not even $5”—from the trust to cover basic necessities during his incarceration.
The trustee’s attorney acknowledged the small sum requested is intended to allow Nick Reiner to purchase essential items available through the jail commissary, improving his conditions while detained. This development comes amid continued contention over control and disbursement of the trust assets as the murder trial proceeds.
