Television presenter Nicki Chapman has revealed that she experiences difficulties with reading and attention following brain surgery in 2019. The 59-year-old, known for her work on "Escape to the Country," underwent an operation to remove a benign tumour approximately the size of a golf ball.

Speaking on the "My Mate Bought A Toaster" podcast, Chapman explained that she now finds it challenging to maintain focus when reading. She said her ability to read and retain information has diminished, making tasks such as learning scripts more time-consuming. "I can read, and I have to learn my scripts, I just find everything takes a little bit longer," she remarked, noting that her attention span has been affected.

Despite these difficulties, Chapman emphasized that the challenges are a "small price to pay" for surviving the surgery and maintaining her health. Before her television career, she was a prominent public relations agent in the music industry. Chapman’s candid reflections highlight some of the cognitive impacts that can follow brain surgery, even when the outcome is ultimately positive.
