Manchester City defender Nico O’Reilly stated that he and his England teammates facing the risk of suspension are not allowing potential disciplinary consequences to affect their approach ahead of the upcoming match against Norway. O’Reilly, along with Jude Bellingham, Marc Guehi, and Declan Rice, is among four players who could miss the semi-finals if they receive another yellow card, should England advance that far in the tournament.

Under current tournament rules, yellow cards are erased after the quarter-final stage, reducing the chance of suspension later in the competition. Nevertheless, the players understand the stakes involved in the next game.

Despite this, O’Reilly emphasized that maintaining focus on their performance is paramount. “Of course, there’s risk if we win and get a yellow card and miss the next game. But I’m not focused on that. I’m focused on playing my game and doing what I need to do,” he said.

This mindset indicates the England squad’s determination to prioritize their gameplay over potential disciplinary setbacks as they prepare for the knockout stages.
