A delegation of Nigerian political leaders and professionals visited Kuwait in late September to participate in a week-long leadership development and institutional exposure program. The group, affiliated with Nigeria’s Accord party, arrived in Kuwait on September 29 and spent the week exploring various aspects of governance, humanitarian service, and public administration.
During their stay, the delegation met with the management and editorial team of Kuwait Times, where they engaged in discussions on leadership development, ethical public service, governance, media relations, diaspora engagement, and humanitarian cooperation. The group also highlighted the historical and ongoing relationship between Nigeria and Kuwait, emphasizing the importance of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration.
Dr. Hamzat Oriyomi Abdul Rahman, head of the delegation, praised Kuwait’s leadership, particularly His Highness the Amir, for the country’s sustained commitment to humanitarian efforts and peace promotion worldwide. He described Kuwait’s initiatives as significant contributions to international solidarity and peaceful coexistence, underscoring the nation’s role in supporting vulnerable communities around the globe.
The program aims to deepen participants’ knowledge of judicial principles, institutional responsibility, ethical leadership, and nation-building, with the goal of strengthening governance and public administration in their home country. By engaging with Kuwaiti institutions and media representatives, the delegation sought to enhance people-to-people ties and advance cooperation between Nigeria and Kuwait.
The delegation included Dr. Hamzat Oriyomi Abdul Rahman, Folarin Johnson Olaniyan, Idris Oriyomi Badru, Adebayo Simeone Ajayi, Reverend Dr. Solomon Olugbenga Mosebolatan, Lateef Adekunle Arowosaye, Muritala Hamad Tijani, Ambassador Shakirullah Orankan Jimoh, Ambassador Sulaiman Alade Ibrahim, Oluwasola Ebenezer Busayo, Dr. Mansour Olayiwola Abdu Salam, Ambassador Dr. Musa Alongbija Muhammad Lawal, and Dr. Adegboyega Lateef Mustapha.
