Nizwa launched their 2026–2027 Oman Basketball League season with a decisive 111–36 win against Salalah at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher. Demonstrating control throughout the match, Nizwa secured victories in all four quarters, combining effective offense with disciplined defense to claim their first two points of the campaign.

The home side established their dominance early, opening a substantial 32–9 lead by the end of the first quarter. Nizwa’s quick ball movement and strong positioning disrupted Salalah’s rhythm, while their defensive pressure limited Salalah’s scoring opportunities from the outset.

Nizwa extended their advantage further in the second quarter, outscoring Salalah 28–4 to reach halftime with a commanding 60–13 lead. The visitors found themselves unable to counter Nizwa’s scoring momentum or break through their defense, placing them in a challenging position for the remainder of the game.

After the break, Nizwa maintained their offensive intensity, adding another 28 points while restricting Salalah to nine points in the third quarter. This pushed the lead to 88–22 heading into the final period, effectively deciding the outcome.

Salalah showed signs of improvement in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points, their highest output of the match, but Nizwa continued to control the game, adding 23 points to complete a comprehensive 75-point victory.

Nizwa’s consistency was evident, as they scored at least 23 points in every quarter and executed a defensive strategy that particularly stifled Salalah’s offense in the first half. Despite Salalah’s improved scoring in the latter stages, their inability to contain Nizwa or sustain effective attacks limited their competitiveness throughout the game.
