Nizwa maintained its position at the top of the Athletes’ Development Centres Basketball League standings following a comeback victory over Al Amerat, while Seeb moved into second place with a win against Salalah. Both matches took place at the sub-hall of the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Muscat.
In the first game, Al Amerat started strongly, demonstrating sharp transition play and effective finishing that gave them a 10-6 lead after the first quarter. They extended their advantage in the second quarter, scoring 16 points to Nizwa’s nine and taking a 26-15 lead into halftime. Nizwa responded after the break with improved defensive discipline, employing a zone defense that limited Al Amerat’s scoring opportunities. The third quarter saw Nizwa cut the deficit by outscoring Al Amerat 13-5, but Al Amerat still held a 37-28 lead entering the final period.
The fourth quarter shifted momentum decisively in Nizwa’s favor as they intensified their efforts on both offense and defense. Forcing turnovers and converting their chances, Nizwa put up 22 points while restricting Al Amerat to nine, completing a 50-40 comeback victory. Raid al Busaidy led Nizwa’s scoring with 24 points, supported by Hamza al Sabri’s 18 and Ammar Ambosaidi’s six. On Al Amerat’s side, Abdulrahman Shamis scored 10 points, with Mulham al Owaisi and Nawar al Bahlawi contributing six points each.
In the second game, Seeb took control early against Salalah through strong defensive organization and accurate shooting. They held a 16-11 lead after the first quarter before dominating the second quarter by a 21-5 margin, building a substantial 37-16 halftime advantage. Although Salalah improved in the second half, outscoring Seeb 18-12 in the third quarter, Seeb remained comfortably ahead at 49-34 going into the final period.
Salalah continued to pressure in the closing quarter, scoring 20 points, but Seeb's earlier lead secured them a 66-54 win. Al Farooq al Hasani was Seeb’s top scorer with 19 points, followed by Ahmed al Maskari with 16 and Saif al Mughairi with 14, while Sam al Balushi added seven points. Salalah’s Fahad Majid delivered a standout individual performance, scoring 30 points, with Mohammed al Ghafri and Salim al Dhahab contributing nine and eight points respectively.
Following these results, Nizwa leads the league with six points, Seeb holds second place with five points, Al Amerat has four points, and Salalah remains with three points.
