Prosecutors have decided not to pursue charges against a 34-year-old Iranian man in connection with an incident at the Faslane naval base earlier this year. The man and a 31-year-old Romanian woman were detained on March 19 after allegedly attempting to gain unauthorized access to the facility.

The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service confirmed that no proceedings will be brought against the Iranian man “at this time.” Charges against the Romanian woman were also dropped in April, prosecutors said.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have not been detailed by authorities, and no further information was provided regarding the decision not to prosecute. The Faslane base, located on the west coast of Scotland, is a key Royal Navy facility. Security measures and protocols at the base have not been publicly addressed following the event.
