The Perodua National Amateur Golf Series 2026 concluded its 14-state qualifying circuit with the Wilayah Persekutuan leg held at Impian Golf & Country Club in Kajang. The final qualifier secured the last group of champions who will advance to the national final at Templer Park Country Club later this month.
Norhisam Hussain emerged as the gross title winner of the Wilayah Persekutuan qualifier, carding a 72 gross round while playing off a two-handicap. His performance featured six birdies—four on the back nine and two on the front—alongside six pars and six bogeys. This strong showing earned him the top individual honor on the day and the automatic role of Wilayah team captain for the upcoming national final.
During the prize ceremony, Norhisam called on his teammates to maintain discipline, consistent practice, and fitness as they prepare for the competition ahead. He emphasized the importance of teamwork and commitment as the team aims to bring pride to Wilayah Persekutuan and secure a place for Malaysia at the World Amateur Golf Championships (WAGC) world final in 2026.
The strokeplay nett medal contests produced competitive results across multiple handicap categories. Abdul Malik Hasim (4 handicap) claimed Medal A with a 73 nett, Jeffrey Loh (7) won Medal B with 70 nett, Mohamad Farid Mokhtar (15) took Medal C with 70 nett, Mohd Puad Abu Bakar (17) secured Medal D with 68 nett, and Muhamad Fadzurrohim Jemain (21) captured Medal E with 68 nett.
All 14 state champions, including those from the Wilayah Persekutuan qualifier, have now been confirmed. A total of 84 finalists will gather at Templer Park from September 27 to 29 for the national final, where they will compete for the chance to represent Malaysia at the WAGC world final to be held at Desaru Coast, Johor, next month.
