North Korean leader Kim Jong Un conducted a three-day inspection tour of the country’s military production facilities last week, underscoring Pyongyang’s emphasis on advancing its defense capabilities. During the visits, Kim reviewed various domestically produced military equipment, including armored vehicles, weapons, and small aerial drones.

Kim stated that ongoing efforts to modernize all elements of North Korea’s defense arsenal have led to notable improvements in the composition and effectiveness of its armed forces. The tour reflects the leadership’s continued prioritization of military preparedness amid heightened regional and international tensions.

The inspections took place against the backdrop of recent diplomatic developments involving North Korea’s nuclear program. Kim’s sister, Kim Yo Jong, criticized the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for what she described as "double standards" following the agency’s adoption of a resolution condemning Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons activities. She argued that the IAEA’s biased approach is a key contributor to the erosion of the international nuclear non-proliferation regime.

Meanwhile, North Korea’s Foreign Ministry reiterated the country's stance that its status as a nuclear power is permanent and irreversible, signaling a firm commitment to maintaining and potentially expanding its nuclear arsenal despite global opposition.
