A new Persian restaurant has opened its doors in Brentwood, offering a fresh take on northern Iranian regional cuisine. Located on the third floor of Brentwood Plaza Gardens along San Vicente Boulevard, the establishment is the latest endeavor by siblings Farinaz and Farbod Pirshirazi, who also operate the Persian restaurants Toranj in Westwood and Manhattan Beach.
The restaurant’s design features an open-air setting with light wood accents and a neutral palette of creams, creating an inviting atmosphere. While the menu includes familiar Persian staples such as kebabs and dips, the highlight lies in its selection of less commonly served dishes inspired by the coastal provinces of northern Iran.
Among the standout offerings is tahdig, a traditional smoked rice dish served under a smoke-filled cloche that evokes the authentic flavors achieved by smoking freshly harvested rice over fruit woods. Seafood dishes also reflect northern Iranian influences, with whole branzino accompanied by a sauce made from walnuts, barberries, and pomegranate molasses, combining tart and sweet notes.
The brunch menu continues this regional exploration with items like an omelet featuring smoked dates, a saffron-infused pancake, and kuku sibzamini—potato fritters prepared in the style of a flat frittata. These dishes showcase distinctive flavors that set the restaurant apart from many other Persian dining options in Los Angeles.
The Pirshirazi siblings’ new venture aims to introduce diners to the rich culinary traditions of northern Iran, emphasizing both authenticity and innovation in its preparation and presentation.
