Norwich head coach Phillippe Clement acknowledged his team's persistent challenges following a fifth consecutive league defeat that has left the club positioned in the bottom four of the standings. Speaking after the latest loss, Clement expressed frustration but emphasized the commitment he has observed among his players.

“I am very disappointed, very frustrated,” Clement said. “I saw a lot of passion out there, a lot of effort, but not enough overview.” He noted that while Norwich maintained good possession during matches, critical moments often saw the team making poor decisions, including ill-timed passes and low-probability shots from long range. Clement stressed the need for the squad to strike a balance between emotional intensity and tactical awareness as they seek to improve results.

Clement also addressed the concerns of supporters amid a record of eight defeats in 11 games. “I understand the frustration of our fans with our results, and all I can say is that I will work even harder than I did last season to turn it around,” he said. “We have the quality in the squad to do that and we need to go out on the pitch and change things. You can’t change anything with words.”

Goalkeeper Daniel Grimshaw reflected on the current situation, drawing parallels with a similar slump the team experienced last season. “We found ourselves in this position last season and managed to get out of it, so let’s start doing that now,” Grimshaw said. He acknowledged that confidence is currently low, particularly within a relatively young squad, and underscored the necessity of rebuilding morale to reverse their fortunes.

Norwich’s recent run has placed considerable pressure on the coaching staff and players as they navigate a difficult phase of the season, with the club seeking consistency to avert the risk of relegation.
