The trustees of the Tenneco Automotive (UK) Limited Pension Scheme have announced plans to wind up the scheme, with completion and member benefit security expected by 2028. The notice, issued on October 26, 2026, under Section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925, is directed at current and former employees of several related companies who may be members of the pension scheme.

The Tenneco Automotive (UK) Limited Pension Scheme has operated under various names over the years, including the Armstrong Group Pension Scheme, Monroe Europe (UK) Pension Scheme, and several iterations related to Tenneco Europe and its affiliated entities. The companies covered by the notice include Tenneco Automotive UK Limited, Monroe Europe (UK) Limited, Armstrong Equipment PLC, Tenneco Europe Limited, Tenneco Europe Inc, Tenneco Aviation Limited Inc, Tenneco Automotive Iberica Sociedad Anonima (UK branch only), Albright & Wilson Limited, Albright & Wilson UK PLC, and Tenneco International Holdings Limited.

Employees, former employees, and eligible dependents who believe they were members of the scheme and have not received correspondence from the trustee regarding their benefits are urged to contact the scheme’s trustee as soon as possible. Individuals are requested to submit full details of their suspected benefits entitlement, along with personal information including full name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, and employment details related to the scheme. Correspondence should reference the scheme name.

The trustee has set a deadline of December 26, 2026, for claims and enquiries. If no contact is made by this date, the trustee will proceed with the wind-up using only the claims currently known, and will not be liable for any undisclosed claims.

The notice clarifies that members already receiving a pension from the scheme, or those who have previously communicated with the trustee concerning benefit buyouts, need not take further action. Similarly, anyone who has filed a claim and received a response is not required to reapply.

The wind-up of the pension scheme represents a significant administrative step intended to manage and finalize the scheme's obligations to its members, with the trustee emphasizing the importance of timely communication to safeguard entitlements.
