Novak Djokovic continued his undefeated streak at the China Open with a hard-fought victory over Bu Yunchaokete in the second round of the tournament held in Beijing. The six-time China Open champion secured a 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 win, extending his winning run at the event to 31 matches.
Djokovic, competing in China for the first time in 11 years, faced challenges during the match related to a medical condition he is currently managing. Early in the second set, he appeared to struggle with his breathing, prompting him to accept a time violation and seek treatment between points. This was the second occasion in the tournament where Djokovic consulted a trainer, following similar issues during his first-round victory against Nuno Borges.
Despite these difficulties, the Serbian player regained control in a tightly contested second-set tiebreak, which proved pivotal in turning the match in his favor. He then dominated the third set to secure his progress to the next round of the tournament.
