Vickrum Digwa, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for the fatal stabbing of university student Henry Nowak, is seeking to appeal both his conviction and sentence, the Court of Appeal has confirmed. Digwa received a minimum term of 21 years last month after being found guilty of killing 18-year-old Nowak in Southampton on December 3, 2025.

The sentence had previously been referred to the Court of Appeal by the solicitor general, Ellie Reeves, on the grounds that it was "unduly lenient." However, the court announced that Digwa himself has now lodged an appeal against his conviction and the length of his sentence.

At this stage, no hearing date has been fixed, and the court has not released further details regarding the nature of Digwa’s challenge or whether the appeal will address the conviction, the sentence, or both. The case remains under review as legal processes continue.
