Workington secured their third consecutive victory despite fielding a depleted squad, maintaining a three-goal advantage established early in the second half. The match, played against Leek, saw Workington take an early lead through Luke Hunter, who converted a cross from Kai Nugent.

Following the opening goal, Leek dominated possession and created several chances, with Alex Mitchell producing key saves from attempts by Hayden Campbell and Lucas Weir. However, Workington capitalized quickly after the break, exploiting Leek’s weakness on set-pieces. Within seven minutes of the restart, they scored twice to extend their lead.

The first of these goals came in the 48th minute when Leek struggled to clear a ball delivered into the six-yard box. The loose ball fell to Charlie Barnes, who struck it into the net. Four minutes later, Workington found themselves further ahead after a shot from Brad Carroll was deflected by Barnes into Hunter’s path, allowing him to score his second goal of the match.

Leek responded with two goals of their own to reduce the deficit. Jack Griffiths was instrumental, scoring first in the 57th minute with a driven shot past Mitchell and then again in the 76th minute with a powerful finish. Despite Leek’s late efforts, Workington managed to hold on to secure the win.
