The National Sport Day Committee has announced plans for the 2027 edition of National Sport Day (NSD), which will take place nationwide in February 2027. Marking a first for the event, it will coincide with the holy month of Ramadan and will be themed “Ramadan… A golden opportunity.”

Details and the new identity for the edition were revealed during a press conference held at the Lusail Sports Arena. The briefing was attended by representatives from several partner organizations involved in the event’s coordination.

The NSD Committee emphasized that the theme was chosen to highlight the importance of maintaining physical activity during Ramadan. The committee aims to encourage the integration of sports and exercise into daily routines during the holy month, promoting healthier lifestyles and sustainable physical habits among the population.

Abdulrahman bin Musallam al-Dosari, adviser to the Minister of Sports and Youth and president of the NSD Committee, underscored the significance of the event as a national platform to raise public awareness of sports’ benefits. He described the alignment of the event with Ramadan as a distinctive opportunity for communities to adapt their schedules and incorporate physical activity in a way that respects the traditions of the month while supporting well-being.

The 2027 NSD will feature events across various venues including public parks, walking and running tracks, and sports facilities throughout the country. By organizing activities in accessible locations, the committee seeks to facilitate greater community participation and encourage individuals to engage in regular physical exercise close to their residences.

This approach reflects the committee’s commitment to promoting a culture of sports as an integral part of everyday life, reinforcing health objectives in line with national priorities.
