Nuit D’Eclair is favored to secure her first victory at Group 3 level in the IRE-Incentive, It Pays To Buy Irish Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes, scheduled for 4:14 p.m. at Salisbury on Thursday. The filly, a daughter of Night Of Thunder, has shown promising form following her debut win at Newbury in early July.
Following that initial success, Nuit D’Eclair stepped up to compete in the Princess Margaret Japan Cup Stakes at Ascot, held on the undercard of the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes. She finished a close fourth behind Moonrise in that event. Trainer Kevin Philippart de Foy has maintained the filly at the same competition level, and she narrowly missed victory in her latest outing, finishing a half-length second to Sugar Yes Please in the Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket.
Jockey David Egan rides Nuit D’Eclair in the upcoming race, which sees a reduction in distance from seven furlongs back to six. This change is not expected to pose difficulties for the filly, who aims to double her career win total with a strong performance at Salisbury.
