Nuneaton Town advanced in the FA Trophy following a penalty shootout victory after a late equalizer forced the match beyond regular time. The contest, held on August 30, saw David Frecklington's team enter the game unbeaten in their league campaign.

The visitors took an early lead when Rio Molyneaux scored a spectacular goal just four minutes into the match. Nuneaton appeared to settle after the early strike, with their opponents retreating and creating fewer clear opportunities. Dec Somel came close to extending the lead with a well-delivered cross that nearly found Luke Softley.

The game’s momentum shifted when James Harrison was brought on as a substitute. Harrison managed to score, leveling the match and pushing the tie into a penalty shootout.

During the shootout, Nuneaton gained the upper hand quickly after goalkeeper Finn Osborne saved the first attempt from their opponents. Harrison then successfully converted the fourth penalty for his team, securing Nuneaton Town’s progression in the competition.
