The Media Majlis Museum at Northwestern University in Qatar (NUQ), in collaboration with the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI), has inaugurated its Fall 2026 exhibition, “All That Is Unseen.” The exhibit, which runs until January 21, 2027, showcases the work of Marshmallow Laser Feast, a London-based international art collective known for its immersive, research-driven installations.
The exhibition merges multimedia elements such as film projections, live performances, and interactive installations to investigate natural phenomena that are usually imperceptible to the human eye. It features contributions from notable figures across the arts, including director Terrence Malick, the late producer Edward R Pressman, and actors and musicians like Cate Blanchett, Daisy Lafarge, Jon Hopkins, Johann Johannsson, Meredith Monk, Howard Skempton, and Jonny Greenwood.
Marwan M Kraidy, dean and chief executive of NUQ, underscored the exhibition’s alignment with the university’s mission to blend creativity, technology, and academic research. Alfredo Cramerotti, director of the Media Majlis Museum, highlighted how the project enhances cross-cultural dialogue and relies on evidence-based storytelling to engage audiences. Seb Chan, chief executive of ACMI, expressed optimism about the exhibition’s prospects in Qatar, citing its successful presentations in Melbourne and New Zealand as indicators of a positive reception.
“All That Is Unseen” invites visitors to delve into a sensory exploration of hidden dimensions of the natural world, fostering a deeper understanding of the environment through innovative artistic expression. The exhibition exemplifies a global partnership bridging academic, artistic, and cultural institutions to expand perceptions and knowledge through contemporary media arts.
