Nvidia has announced a $3 billion (£2.25 billion) investment in Meta’s latest equity offering, marking a significant expansion of their collaboration on Muse, Meta’s suite of artificial intelligence models. The partnership will also involve deploying Nvidia infrastructure to support Meta’s AI development efforts.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook, unveiled plans to raise up to £71 billion through share sales aimed at financing its growing AI initiatives. The company has faced increasing costs related to the build-out of its AI capabilities, intensifying pressure on its cash flow. Nvidia’s investment forms part of this broader fundraising effort, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing AI technology alongside Meta.

Both companies indicated that they will explore further engineering integration to enhance AI model performance. Nvidia described the agreement as a joint effort to improve inference and training efficiency for Muse, responding to rising demand for effective AI agents. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed enthusiasm about deepening the partnership, noting their shared goal of delivering advanced personal assistants and cutting-edge AI models.

In addition to Nvidia’s pledge, other semiconductor firms such as AMD and Broadcom have reportedly shown interest in participating in Meta’s equity offering, which was announced earlier this week. The move underscores the tech industry’s recognition of the growing importance of AI and the industry-wide push to develop more sophisticated AI infrastructures.
