A Metropolitan Transportation Authority employee was assaulted at a Queens subway station late Wednesday evening, according to New York Police Department officials. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. on the southbound E train platform at the 71st Avenue station in Forest Hills.
The 51-year-old transit worker was reportedly confronted by a suspect, leading to an argument between the two. The altercation escalated when the suspect suddenly began punching the victim multiple times in the face, authorities said.
Emergency medical personnel transported the injured MTA employee to Presbyterian Queens Hospital for treatment. Police have described the attacker as fleeing the scene by boarding a southbound E train.
