Oakland police are actively investigating the violent abduction of a woman that occurred on the evening of Friday, July 5. Authorities reported that the suspect assaulted the victim with a firearm before forcing her into a dark-colored, four-door sedan.

The incident took place near the 4200 block of Redding Street, in the vicinity of Oakland’s Laurel District. According to police, the suspect and the victim were last seen traveling westbound around 9:30 p.m.

The woman is described as a white female between 30 and 32 years old, weighing approximately 130 pounds. The suspect is identified as a Black male, also between 30 and 32 years old, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing around 140 pounds.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the victim or suspect to come forward as the search continues. No further details about the circumstances of the abduction or the condition of the victim have been released.
