Linda (Waxberg) Schimberg, 76, died unexpectedly in her sleep on August 17, 2026. Born in Chicago on February 9, 1950, she was remembered for her generosity and wide-ranging social circle that included individuals from all walks of life, from celebrities to marginalized groups. She was preceded in death by her parents Regina and David, siblings Mark and Carol, and ex-husband Henry. Linda is survived by her children Alexis and Aaron, grandchildren Sylvie and Viva, and brother Ronald. She spent her final years in Las Vegas, where she was well-known for her magnetic personality and interior design skills. Linda’s memorial site is Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.
Donald H. Brackenbush, 87, passed away on June 30, 2026. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, he held degrees in engineering, architecture, and city planning and worked internationally across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. He was a member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects and the American Institute of Certified Planners. He is survived by his wife, Cathy. Max Frederick Mallett, 86, died on August 23, 2026, in Los Alamitos. A Long Beach native, he is survived by his wife Jeanne, siblings Mark, Gordon, and Kay, as well as five children, nine grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Janice Pawlak Wilke passed away on February 22, 2026, following a long illness. Raised in Bayonne, New Jersey, she worked as a registered nurse in New York City before relocating to Southern California. She is survived by her brother Ronald, sister Carole, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Janice L. Malone, 82, died peacefully on August 13, 2026, in West Hollywood. Born in Massachusetts, she was among the early women in construction at General Telephone of California and had a long career with GTE and Verizon. She lived in Solvang and is survived by her son Mícheál and his partner Adrián. A celebration of her life is planned for September 13 in Los Angeles.
Amy Jo Baugh, 54, died on August 25, 2026, in Sunland. Born in Oxnard, she spent many years caring for children within the Los Angeles Community College system’s preschool programs. She is survived by her daughters, sisters, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of life will take place on September 13 in Simi Valley.
Anne Elizabeth Osberg, 77, passed away on August 23, 2026, at her home in Beverly Hills. A University of Chicago MBA and longtime executive at The Walt Disney Company, she rose to become President of Disney Consumer Products Worldwide. Anne is survived by her nephew Chris Osberg and other extended family. Her family will hold a private ceremony, with donations suggested for the City of Hope or the California Community Foundation.
Kristie Richard Elzinga, a lifelong California resident, died in 2026 after a career spanning airlines and banking. She was deeply involved in various community organizations across Ventura County. Kristie is survived by her husband Richard Elzinga, son Michael, stepchildren, grandchildren, and godchildren. Services are scheduled for September 9 in Oxnard.
Philip Schuyler “Skip” Kamm III, 69, died on August 17, 2026, in Newport Beach. A Pacific Palisades native and UCLA graduate, he led the family business Western Amusement Company, Inc. He was also a dedicated Eagle Scout and youth mentor in the Palisades community. Skip is survived by his mother Juanita Jones Kamm, sisters Jacqueline and Joni, and their families. Services will be held on September 12 at Forest Lawn in Glendale, with memorial donations encouraged for local scouting programs.
