Maria Anatra Piccione Fouce, a beloved figure known for her contributions to the beauty and jewelry industries and her deep commitment to family and community, died on September 7, 2026, in Nashville, Tennessee. She was 73.

Born on December 21, 1952, in Brooklyn, New York, Maria was married to Tom Fouce for 48 years. The couple had two sons: Julian Thomas Fouce, who predeceased her, and Vincent Fouce. Maria also is survived by her sister Laura Smith and brother Peter Piccione, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members from the Piccione, Raimondi, and Fouce families.

Maria had a passion for art, music, fashion, and travel, and she was known for her love of gardening, flowers, and antique decor. Professionally, she was the owner of Anatra Hair in West Hollywood, California, and Anatra Jewel in Nashville. Through these ventures, she fostered many friendships and mentored young women entering the industry, leaving a lasting impact on her clients and employees.

Maria’s family described her as a devoted wife and mother, highlighting her unwavering dedication and compassion, particularly during the years she cared for her son Julian amid his illness. Tom and Vincent Fouce expressed their gratitude to the staff of Serving Our Seniors and Alive Hospice for their care and support over the past two years, singling out caregivers Ashley, Shima, Kunijia, and physical therapist Sallie Woodward.

Known for her infectious laughter, loyalty, and warmth, Maria’s presence was a source of comfort and strength to those around her. In her memory, donations can be made to the Julian T. Fouce Music Therapy Fund at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
