Irish singer Daniel O’Donnell has replaced vinyl records that were lost in a house fire during a recent heatwave. The fire, which occurred on August 13, destroyed six homes in Warstock, Birmingham, including the residence of Carol Squires and her family.

Among the items lost in the blaze was a collection of O’Donnell’s vinyl records, originally owned by Squires’ mother. After learning about the incident from a BBC radio station, O’Donnell responded by sending signed copies of his albums to the family.

In a message to Squires, O’Donnell expressed sympathy for the family’s loss and hoped they were coping with the aftermath of the fire. "I was sorry to hear of the traumatic experience you had recently with your house, and I hope that you’re doing okay," he wrote.

The Squires family said that the replacement records would hold special meaning. Carol Squires noted that her father, who was reluctant to handle her late mother’s belongings since her passing over a year ago, would appreciate the gesture. The family plans to cherish the records as a tribute to their late relative.
