Leon Draisaitl scored the go-ahead goal with 2:27 remaining to lift the Edmonton Oilers to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Seattle Kraken on Sunday night. Connor McDavid added an empty-net goal with 1:05 left to secure the win for Edmonton.
Owen Michaels contributed another goal for the Oilers, who improved to 2-1 on the season following last week’s 6-5 overtime loss to Vancouver. Goaltender Devon Levi made 19 saves in the victory, helping Edmonton limit the Kraken’s offense.
Bobby McMann scored the lone goal for Seattle, while goaltender Philipp Grubauer stopped 22 of 24 shots in the losing effort. The Kraken, who are still seeking their first win, were unable to overcome Edmonton’s late surge in the third period.
