A duplex condominium in a historic Hoboken, New Jersey, brownstone once owned by Frank Sinatra has been listed for $3.95 million. According to Brown Harris Stevens, which is handling the sale, the late singer purchased the late 19th-century home in the 1940s for his parents, Marty and Dolly Sinatra. The duration of the Sinatra family's residency in the building is not clearly documented.
Originally constructed as a single-family home, the brownstone was later subdivided into rental units. It is currently undergoing conversion into a luxury condominium complex. The newly listed duplex is set to be the largest and most expensive unit in the building. The other apartments, consisting mainly of one-bedroom and studio units, continue to be rented out.
The property was acquired by the current seller and developer in 2022 for $3.65 million. A renovation lasting over a year transformed the 296-square-meter unit, combining the restoration of original historic features with modern updates. The main floor, also known as the parlour floor, retains period details such as high ceilings, crown molding, and wood paneling. Functional elements like sets of double doors allow the living room to be separated from the vestibule, and the dining room can be closed off from the kitchen, maintaining a traditional layout.
The listing is being led by Wes L. Page and Peter Cossio of Brown Harris Stevens, who recently brought the property to market.
