Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner anticipates additional player acquisitions following the club-record signing of striker Liam Delap from Chelsea. Delap, 23, joined Forest on Thursday for a reported fee of £45 million, marking the most expensive transfer in the club’s history.

Glasner indicated that Forest aims to reinforce the squad further ahead of the upcoming transfer deadline on Tuesday. While declining to confirm reports of a £22 million bid for his former Crystal Palace full-back Daniel Munoz, the Austrian manager acknowledged that several deals are close to completion.

“I think we will add two players. One we have added, that means we will have at least one more signing,” Glasner said prior to Forest’s match at Liverpool. “Deals are quite close to being done, but from today our focus is on the Liverpool match. That is the most important thing in the next 30 hours, and then we have three more days to get the deals over the line.”

Delap's move comes after a challenging season at Chelsea, where he struggled to secure consistent playing time under new head coach Xabi Alonso. Having scored only two goals in all competitions since his transfer from Ipswich last summer, Delap had been training separately from the first team.

Glasner expressed confidence in Forest’s environment offering the forward an opportunity to revive his career. “It is clear you have to look for a club where you have better chances to get minutes and reignite your career, and that is why we think we are the right club for him,” he said.

The signing and potential further recruitments underscore Nottingham Forest’s intent to strengthen their squad as they seek to improve on recent setbacks, including home league and Carabao Cup losses to Leeds United.
