Oman has expressed strong condemnation of recent military strikes targeting Bahrain, Kuwait, and two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming its solidarity with Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states in efforts to safeguard their security and sovereignty.

In a statement released by the Omani Foreign Ministry on July 9, the government denounced the attacks on Bahraini and Kuwaiti territories, as well as assaults on two ships—one Saudi and one Qatari—within the strategically important maritime corridor. The ministry emphasized that such escalations intensify regional tensions and threaten broader stability.

Highlighting the direct risks to regional security and maritime safety, Oman underscored concerns over the potential disruption of international trade routes and the stability of energy supplies, which are vital to the global economy. The statement reaffirmed Oman’s rejection of any actions undermining the security of states or endangering civilian and commercial shipping in the area.

The ministry called on all involved parties to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions through dialogue and diplomatic channels. It urged full adherence to existing agreements aimed at maintaining peace and security in the region, emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation among GCC nations to address shared challenges.
