An Omani delegation visiting Belarus has examined the country’s expertise in food security, industrial development, and technological innovation as part of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation and explore new investment opportunities. The visit took place ahead of the opening of the Belagro 2026 exhibition, a key event for the agricultural sector.

The delegation was led by Dr. Saud bin Hamoud al Habsi, Oman’s Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and included Ambassador Hamoud bin Salim al Towaiya, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation and non-resident ambassador to Belarus. During their time in Belarus, the group visited the Slutsk Cheese Factory located in Minsk, where they received briefings on advanced dairy production technologies and the factory’s role within Belarus’s broader food industry. Officials were provided insights into the facility’s manufacturing processes and production capabilities.

Additionally, members representing the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, alongside officials from Oman Food Investment Holding Company and Oman European Food Industries Company, toured the Belakt production facility in the Volkovysk district of the Grodno region. At Belakt, the delegation observed production lines dedicated to infant nutrition and dairy products, as well as the latest manufacturing technologies, quality assurance procedures, and food safety standards employed by the company.

Discussions during the visit centered on potential areas for cooperation, knowledge sharing, and partnerships in food and dairy sectors. Both parties expressed interest in expanding trade and investment ties with a view toward supporting food security and boosting economic relations between Oman and Belarus.

Meanwhile, Faisal bin Abdullah al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, led a separate trade delegation to the Belarus-China Industrial Park. The park is a significant industrial zone providing access to the Eurasian market, with fully equipped industrial facilities designed for investors. The delegation reviewed Belarus’s industrial capabilities, production technologies, and major economic sectors, and received information about incentives and services available to businesses establishing operations in the park.

These visits are part of broader initiatives aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and fostering deeper strategic ties between Oman and Belarus across multiple sectors.
