The Sultanate of Oman took part in the 36th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Justice held in Manama, Bahrain, on October 5, 2026. Represented by Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al Saeedi, Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs, along with officials from the ministry, Oman engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening judicial and legal collaboration across the GCC member states.

A significant initiative presented by Bahrain’s Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments involved the creation of an electronic platform designed to facilitate the exchange of judicial notices and notifications among member states.
Participants also reviewed matters related to the Committee of Directors and Heads of Judicial and Legal Training Centres and Institutes in the GCC. Discussions focused on advancing legal training and capacity building within the region. Additionally, the meeting considered a draft of unified regulations targeting crimes related to information technology, reflecting a regional effort to standardize approaches to cybercrime prevention and enforcement.
Further updates were provided through a report covering activities from the Committee of Officials of International Cooperation and International Relations Departments within the ministries of justice of the GCC states for the year 2026.
