Oman and Qatar reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability and enhanced bilateral cooperation during a high-level meeting held on June 24, 2026. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al Busaidy, Oman's Foreign Minister, met with Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, to review the strong ties between their countries and explore further opportunities for collaboration.

The discussions focused on the progress of economic and investment partnerships, with both sides emphasizing the importance of expanding strategic cooperation to benefit their populations. They also addressed a range of regional and international issues, agreeing on the need for aligned approaches to support peace and security in the Middle East.

Key topics included efforts to manage ongoing tensions in the region and the advancement of diplomatic initiatives aimed at fostering dialogue and mutual understanding. Particular attention was given to the security of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global trade and energy supplies. Both parties underscored the necessity of maintaining safe and uninterrupted passage through this corridor in accordance with international law, while respecting national sovereignty and international community interests.
