The Sultanate of Oman has been re-elected as a member of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child for the 2027–2031 term. The election took place during the 21st Meeting of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of the Child at United Nations Headquarters in New York.

This marks Oman’s second consecutive term on the committee, signaling continued international confidence in its role within this key human rights body. The Committee on the Rights of the Child is responsible for monitoring implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by its state parties, aiming to ensure the protection and promotion of children's rights worldwide.

Oman’s renewed membership is anticipated to strengthen collaboration with other committee members, allowing the country to contribute actively to advancing global efforts aimed at safeguarding the well-being of children. The position aligns with the broader goal of fostering safe, healthy, and prosperous environments for children internationally.

Omani officials have highlighted the re-election as a reflection of the country’s growing prominence on the global stage and its commitment to the principles enshrined in the Convention. As a member of the committee, Oman will participate in reviewing reports from state parties and help guide international policy development to promote children's rights.
