Oman has commenced its participation in the 50th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (SabaSaba 2026) in Tanzania, presenting a broad array of products and investment opportunities from 24 Omani public and private sector organizations. The event, which features 3,891 exhibitors from over 23 countries including more than 430 international participants, serves as a platform to enhance trade relations and expand Omani exports into East African markets.

Oman’s pavilion is coordinated by the OPEX team, a consortium that includes Madayn, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), and the SMEs Development Authority (Riyada). The pavilion showcases companies operating across industrial, commercial, and service sectors, aiming to highlight the quality and diversity of Omani products while attracting foreign investment.

Dr. Rashid al Alawi, Director of Investment at Madayn, emphasized that the country’s involvement in the trade fair underpins efforts to draw industrial investments and promote the range of services and incentives available within Oman’s industrial cities. Officials noted that participation also facilitates increased engagement between Omani small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and potential investors, distributors, and importers in the East African region.

The Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, held annually, is one of the largest trade events in East Africa and serves as a key venue for international exhibitors to explore new markets. Oman’s engagement reflects a strategic initiative to broaden its export footprint and foster stronger economic ties with emerging markets in East Africa.
