The Oman Sustainability Week (OSW) Awards are set to return for their sixth edition as the Sultanate of Oman continues to advance its sustainability and Net Zero goals. The awards aim to recognize organizations that demonstrate leadership in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices through innovation, social responsibility, and tangible results.
Organized as part of Oman Sustainability Week, the OSW Awards – ESG Category are co-hosted by the Oman Environmental Services Holding Company, known as be’ah, in collaboration with the Center for Sustainability and Excellence (CSE) from Chicago. The Expression of Interest (EOI) period for nominations will open on September 1, 2026, and run through November 19, 2026.
The awards program is designed to highlight organizations that have established robust ESG frameworks and achieved meaningful, measurable sustainability outcomes. By honoring these contributions, the event aims to promote ongoing commitment to responsible business practices and encourage collaboration across sectors.
A key component of the awards is the Oman Sustainability Index (OSI), which assesses organizational performance on a range of ESG criteria. The OSI has been developed in partnership with CSE and aligns with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, providing a comprehensive benchmarking tool for organizations. Through this index, participating entities can enhance transparency, accountability, and alignment with Oman’s national development priorities as well as global sustainability targets.
Leaders attending the awards include representatives from government, industry, and academia, emphasizing the collaborative effort required to build a more sustainable, efficient, and resilient future for Oman. The 2027 edition of the OSW Awards invites ESG leaders to demonstrate their measurable impact on sustainability, supporting the Sultanate’s broader environmental objectives.
