Muscat – Oman’s trade relations with the United States have shown significant activity, with the volume of bilateral trade reaching approximately RO 555.26 million by the end of July 2026. This development was highlighted during a recent meeting between Dr. Khamis bin Saif al Jabri, Oman’s Minister of Economy, and representatives of the Oman Trade Office in the United States, which operates under the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The discussions focused on reviewing the achievements of the Oman Trade Office in the U.S., addressing challenges encountered in promoting bilateral commerce, and outlining strategies to further strengthen economic ties. Key topics included enhancing support for Omani exports, expanding their presence within the American market, and attracting U.S. investments into Oman to foster deeper trade cooperation.
Trade between the two countries is marked by distinct export and import sectors. Oman’s primary exports to the United States include chemicals and aluminium products, while vehicles and transportation equipment rank among the main imports from the U.S. to Oman.
The meeting underscored the importance of activating mutual economic partnerships and investment opportunities, reflecting a shared interest in growing commercial engagement. Officials emphasized ongoing efforts to facilitate trade access and investment, aiming to build upon existing foundations to realize the objectives for which the Oman Trade Office in the U.S. was established.
As Oman continues to seek diversification and expansion of its economic relations, its collaboration with the United States remains a central component of its trade strategy in the coming years.
